Geomancer?
Geomancers are supposed to utilise the environment to help them win fights.
Now this is one job that probably needs a major overhaul before it gets added to FFXI. Looking at it being added in it's current state it seems that Geomancers will be on the losing end.
First, most battles are fought in similar conditions such as jungles, caves and fields/dunes. There seems to be quite a limited variety of environments for the Geomancers to display their skill. Still, this is not too big problem.
The bigger one is... logically speaking, mobs residing in an area should not be weak to that area. As such, using that area to fight the mob would be... ineffective maybe? Perhaps all such effects could be made neutral than and dmg be a straight formula with no elemental bonuses etc.
Maybe the Geomancers could get some buffs/debuffs from the environment. Then again we seem to be getting a lot of buffing/debuffing jobs. Overkill maybe? Or maybe Geomancers can be tanks! Defensive buffs from the environment.
I dunno lol, I'm just blabbering.
